Experience the magic of Matariki through Tūhono – an immersive light trail by emerging Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei artist Arama Tamariki-Enua celebrating the stories, people and places of the downtown waterfront.
Tūhono means “to tie together” – a metaphoric waka that weaves through the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, linking significant sites from Te Kōmititanga to Te Tōangaroa. The works reflect oceanic journeys of migration and the enduring presence of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei in this whenua.

Where: From Te Kōmititanga (Commercial Bay), through Takutai Square at Britomart, ending at Māhuhu ki te Rangi Park in Te Tōangaroa

Celebrate Te Mātahi o Te Tau and the rising of Matariki in the heart of Te Tōangaroa.
